Description
uBuntu – I Am Because We Are, a course designed for children aged 9 -15, is an invitation for children to explore what it means to be human from the uBuntu perspective.
Drawn by the vision of a child that understands his/her place and purpose in the Universe, it is a creative and reflective journey that is rooted in the beautiful African story of our interconnectedness and belonging.
The Heart of the course is the Mandala that represents creation, wholeness, relationship, and harmony and that serves as a powerful tool for learning and reflection.
Containing Seven overflowing Essential Elements, the mandala makes it possible for children to see the beauty, depth and vastness of life. They are able to engage with uBuntu and to experience the interconnectedness of everything directly.
With abstract concepts being softened gently and playfully in the process, children get in touch with what uBuntu – being human means and how it works.
